Things are moving on nicely:

Kittens special turning mechanism born out of motorcycle front brakes and the ram from an engine crane - makes turning everything very controllable.

Extreme tilt to enable laminating of the centre of the mould.

Balsa going on to stiffen the mould and ensure the boat will be as straight as the plug.

john i hope kitten has devised a good method for lifting them boarding ladders coz i reckon they might cause a bit of drag in the water

Quite alot has happened since the last update, as long as you are not scared of the dark one you can see it here I think

It's looking good, and has certainly moved on since we saw it in August.

Nasher(s) you're always welcome - I was having a nightmare with suppliers and it's still going on! Getting the right fibreglass and multilam marine ply is proving harder and harder but I think Kitten may have got it sorted this week so we should have a good supplier for a while until they swap to cheap crap again!

The boat will be epic and we have already drawn one with tubes on, so if anyone wants to order a tubed version for RB12 then get your cheque book out!

Congrats to you and your team, Cookee. I agree, certainly looks the part and look forward to see her running on the water, whats the next target race then ?

It's 34' or 10m UIM racing length which is the length measured from the tip of the bow to the bottom of the transom - with the extension over the drives on the inboard versions it will be around 38' or maybe a bit longer LOA.

Zippy - everyone is welcome to look over the boat - just not all at once! I am back from NZ on the 10/12 - if anyone wants the tour call me after that date (I may need a couple of days to catch up and get over the jet lag) - testing as soon as possible!

The first race will be the Brass Monkey in February from Poole - Bournemouth Pier is the place to watch!

Not sure if the Brass Monkey is happening now - it seems it may be cancelled?

Progress has been a bit slow recently with Phantom 19 building and the holidays - we do have a tubed version planned and we now have the graphics for the outboard version - see photos! Whilst we haven't done any graphics, a tubed outboard version will also be available

Just one q though - has it been designed for those Verado 350s ie. is this a case where since the boat is designed for them, they would be chosen over say the Opti 300xs - staying with Mercury?

I'm pretty sure you can't design a boat for a particular outboard - it was initially intended for twin inboards, but we have made the moulds so that it would be possible to fit either inboards or outboards - you could even fit a pair of Yamahas!

Surely weight, and balance can be designed into a hull. As well as being designed to cater exactly for how an engine likes to run ie. etec high and Suzukis a bit lower? And also the characteristics of the prop that you plan on using, changing attitude to suit etc. Or is it simply a case of drawing some lines on CAD and seeing how it goes...was Leeway's "purpose designed" hook a bit pointless then
