When I spoke to henshaws they said don't use abrasion just use a cloth and hypalon thinners.

I've got a gallon of it somewhere...

Fitted the rebuilt poppet valve and we got on with cleaning the tubes.

MEK works. Like, REALLY works. It dissolves the thin nitrile mechanics gloves, but only seems to make the surface tacky on the thick black rubber gloves from Tesco.

Pic 1-port side rubbing strake, uncleaned.
Pic 2, starboard strake. Normal TFR scrub, then a few wipes with MEK on a white cotton dishcloth.

It did make the surface of the rubbing strake tacky for a few minutes, but it soon went away. (It's not PVC rubbing strake as far as I can tell)

Getting there.

The tubes look dirty in the 1st pic, which is a bit odd as they definitely aren't.

It seems to work!

Minor issues with the smartcraft gauges, and it REALLY doesn't want to come off the trailer with a full fuel tank! Need to look at the trunking on the motor as well as it seems to be hooking up the throttle a bit and a couple of times didn't return all the way to tickover.

Saw 50mph (anyone know how to change Smartcraft MPH into Kts?) against the tide solo down Southampton water, and was still accelerating at 5200rpm.

Yes definitely, it doesn't sail astern too well though.

I've decided to get a nicer aux bracket, it needs more stainless
