Ballistic

A friend of mine has tried to post a question without success so here it is
'
Why is my Ballistic 6.5( Evinrude 175 HP engine) light on the nose, it is a hard ride and difficult in chop due to riding nose up . It gets airborne in 1m chop at +20mph landing tail down? Works fine with 50kg of sand in the bow locker but not very fuel efficient to do that ! The engine is set on next to the last adjustment and has to be trimmed right in without the ballast?’

Picture taken at 26kn looks OK but 'nods' all the time even on flat water .

Hi John,

Your friend (Steve) should try another 6.5 Ballistic so he can judge whether it is his boat in particular or a common feature of that model. As you know we have plenty of Ballistic 6.5's on the dry stack and I'm sure I could arrange for him to go for a quick blast with one of our other Ballistic clients? Perhaps get him to give me a ring?

Regards

Steve

Did you get to the bottom of this? I have Ballistic 6.5 with Evinrude 175 HP and don't find it light on the nose - unless its trimmed out?

I would be willing to meet up some time, if your friend fancied a trip round this way?
