It was only the engine, i am getting a replacement put on tomorrow - a 115 opti

The police know who it was but if they will catch them, who knows.

thanksfully the boat is all ok, they even unscrewed the throttle/ignition box. They left the gps and radio which i can't understand as they are right by the throttle unit, very strange.... They had 3 engines in total and broke into 5 boats. There have also been 3 other boat yards hit as well

Now, if the weather picks up a bit i might even get the boat wet this time

I'm going to try organising a cruise, and maybe a Solent style Beer and Banter in Dartmouth for anyone who fancies turning up.

I'll be around then so that will be good

Bruce:

Have you asked if you can move the booking and not cancel it. Most accommodation providers are happy to do this.

At a cost they will but there are no rooms left on the new delivery date anyway.
A room in Hull is not really of any use for anything other than picking up my hull as it isn't really a weekend resort I would go to normally!

LOL. Let me think spend some time around Oban or go visit Hull - hmm difficult decision. It's years since I've been but I will always love Oban. Many a night in the Barn with our trusty divers lung tester (boy did Henry shudder when he saw us arrive). Best of luck with your difficulties.

Well, I sent an email two days ago asking why my hull was delayed from the original completion date and asking if they would compensate me for my lost bookings. So far the response has been...................nothing!
If I could cancel I would and go elsewhere, this is the second time they have done this to me and it isn't as if I live anywhere near Hull and can saunter along any day to pick it up or even have been pushing for completion quickly. I only asked for a realistic date for completion and added 10 days as a reserve in case of problems.........

Humber contacted me today and offered to pay for my lost hotel bookings. At least I am not out of pocket now.
At least its just an annoyance about dates rather than being out of pocket now. I was never in that much of a hurry to pick the boat up as I had to finish my new driveway (finished today, Yeah!) to keep it on and won't really have the time till early April to do much on building it up due to financial year end projects and staff shortages anyway!
Just waiting on some bits to arrive and everything is now bought for the build bar seats, A frame and cabling/fuel lines. Enough to get a good run at putting it all together.................
