The holeshot wasn't there.

My Sr4 used to launch itself out of the water and onto the plane almost like a jetski, even with the flooding hull full.

So was the holeshot difference slight, or a massive difference? I must admit one of the great things about the SR4 is the way it takes off from a standing start and leaps onto the plane immediately.

Noticeable. Never actually timed it, but a good example is Gibbo on here's SR4. It does propstands with a Yam 50 2 stroke.

Holeshot is the acceleration up to planing speeds. With my 40hp 2s Tigga takes off from standstill, with a full flooding hull, and is up on the plane almost straight away. The discussion is about how much longer it will take to get onto the plane with a 50hp 4s. I'll have 10 more horses, but more weight and 4s don't accelerate as well as 2s.

Ahh. Grunt is how I would have put it.
Mine will plane at 6 knots easily with just me aboard. Which is about an inch in throttle moment
