avon sr5.4 safety lines

im just in the middle of putting new black safety lines on my avon, but the old outer plastic covers are in a mess does anyone have any ideas on what to replace it with cheers tim

The lifelines on my Northcraft are sleeved in black 1/2" water hose.

i like the water hose idea but most of the hose i can find has white small writing on ????

Do you actually need anything on the rope? Or is it to maintain the original appearance?

I used 6 mm rope and woven threaded hose pipe (unfortunately in green). Having the hose on makes it much easier to get back into the boat than rope alone.
