Hi tim

It depends on what use your goin t pu the boat to. If you were going to hae trainee driers (children perhaps) it's a lot easier to respond to a problem with a centre mounted throttle than a side mount.

Downside is I don't recalla centre mount throttle with an interlock Yamaha perhaps?

I'd go for side mount, 'cos your console won't be very wide and it will allow more space for instruments, etc. Cables shouldn't be a problem, as your console will, in all likelihood, be fitted virtually flush to the tube on the helm side, which will allow the cables to drop down from the side of the console and sit neatly on the edge of the deck from the console to the transom.

A top mount control box would probably end up towards the nav side of the boat, again, due to the narrowness of the console and the need to clear the steering wheel.
