You've completely forgotten to factor in the 12 stone of the person at the helm. So where you've factored in a 10% figure for 'slippage', I suggest you rework the figures and include (say 20%) for 'tonnage'.

It was a good try though.

My money's on a 16" by the way.
excuse me Tony, I can't even remember when I was 12 stone, I think you need to up your guesstimate just a touch

In that Rib range aproxx 10% is a good value taken over the thum.

Please give me your exact Yamaha outboard model, and iīll figure out the gear ratio, or yust give me your gear ratio. Give me your top speed rpm, your actual prop pitch, and donīt tell me how fast you go, cause i will calculate this with 10% prop slipping value, would this be fine to you?

Letīs see what happens, but please be honest in the end about your "matching" or not matching top speed.
take no notice Heino, Tony is just missing his canal boat again, he doesn't need any help to work out his normal top speed when he's in his "pipe and slippers" mode, it's flat out at 4mph

No problem, Tony, yust give me your slippers size, kind of wood your
pipe is made of, and source of tobacco you prefer in your pipe.
With 10% slippage of your slippers, iīll calculate the knots of the headwind, but this time in my preferded drunken mode!

Holy shite, is nothing sacred? As if I'm going to divulge the special blend of whacky Baccy that floats my boat. Never mind losing ten percent through slippage, stick an ounce of my blend between a couple of cigarette papers, inhale deeply and you'll lose days!

Now where's my Peter Tosh album?
