Avon Rover 3.4 RIB

I've just bought a Rover with a 15hp outboard, the last 2 digits of the serial number are 00, which I presume form other boats is a 2000 manufature date. Unfortunatley I dont have a manual for it and cannot find one on the internet. Can anyone advise on the tube air pressure. The outboard is a short shaft, is this correct for the model.
Ive bought it for sea fishing, bit late now of course but any comments on its suitability.
Phil

The serial number on mine is not on the plate.

So where is the serial number located?

There's a small stainless steel strip on the outside of the transome, to the right of the engine with the number on.

Hi Phil, my previous RiB was a 2002 Avon Rover 340 and it took a long shaft motor, not short. I no longer have the manual, but I have a PDF of an old Avon Catalogue that includes the 340 spec. PM me your email address and I'll email the file to you if this would be helpful.

The new ones are listed by Avon as a standard shaft outboard, but to be honest my outboard looks a little bit too short. I'll have to measure the tea some depth.

If it has an integrated anchor locker, it will have longshaft transom. Earlier boats were std shaft.

Well it has a stern locker, I'll measure it and see what the tape says.
Thanks everyone for the help by the way.

Avon Rover 3.4 RIB

I've just measured the transom and it's 530mm or just about. 21" in old money. Looks like I'm going to have to get a long shaft.
