Avon Re-issue Logo for Searider

Hello there

I'm the proud owner of an Avon Searider Deluxe - and am going about a conversion to console (as per a few others on here). So far so good - seats out, dash out, bow dodger cut back (ready to be stuck down), the 4 wear patches (which the dash sat on) removed etc. All cleaned in and out and looking promising. I'm also trying tp find a double console on fleabay now, for a reasonable price...

Anywhoo - I've just this evening removed the old Avon logos from the tubes, as they were brown, crispy and naff - I want to put a logo back on but do not know where to get the Avon badge in hypalon-friendly material. It is approx 28x13 cm needed. I have plenty of spare hypalon from the nbow dodger, so if a new logo is smaller, I can back it on a neat rectangular patch so it covers the old mark...

Any ideas, or has anyone else done this?

Cheers
James

Hi downhilldai - these look good and might be good backed on some black/grey hypalon.

I am going to ask a silly question: are they vinyl, and (if so) how long will they last? If not - what are they made of?

Thanks for the reply

Thay are a rubbery sort of vinyl and the letters are printed on. They have a removable foil backing, but no adhesive, so will need to be glued on.

I have no idea how long they will last, so won't guess an answer to that.

if you speak to dave at eurocraft 01772 622856 he knows someone who can laser cut hypalon to make boat names etc. its not cheap but is highly effective and should last the life of the boat. its not cheap because the lettering is cut out twice - once out of the background colour, then again out of the font colour which is then laid inside the background making the finished lettering smooth.

Whilst the customer ones look great, I am trying to keep the cost down. Shame though, as I could do something very tidy with that.

Downhilldai - how can I go about purchasing a pair of the Avon decals? Could we do something over PayPal, maybe?

Cheers
