Kernow loves Ebay, he buys all of his clothes on there, mainly the Chinese import stuff. I saw him the other day with a smart new pair of Neki trainers and an Abbibas sweatshirt. Fortunately he's a raving dyslexic and is chuffed to bits with his purchases.

well what youshould get all depends on your wanted specification!
offshore capability? fast? load carrying? efficient? stylish over functionability etc, because in that price bracket there are a few choices around the 6m mark!

It really depends on what you want to do with it. For up to 20k there a lot of serious used 6m Ribs available. The Avon is a bit soft should you wish to get into offshore cruising. As for what would be better, best trawl through past threads and choose for yourself. Anything along the lines of Osprey, Solent, Ribcraft, Ribtec, Tornado, Humber, Scorpion and on would be good. You could even prize my baby off me for the upper end of your budget . I did notice that the Avon didn't have any electronics which are not cheap to add.

As mollers says it depends whether you are after a med style family rib or a more raw offshore rib.

For a med style Rib, I would consider the Avon 620 and the Zodiac Medline range, with a 4-stroke on it, I believe the Avon is a rebadged Zodiac.

For a more hardcore offshore rib I would choose a Solent 6.5 with an Opti or E-tec for speed. Or if you just want a solid offshore performer has to be XS, Tornado, Humber, Ribcraft, Osprey etc.

The two I would look into and compare against the used Avon are the XS (Barnet Marine) and the Solent, both are very good value.

well never mind second hand ribs at 6m for under 20k, you could get a humber ocean pro 6.3m for just under that budget, kitted for leisure use, a frame, suz 140hp maybe, give it a try, or you could get a destroyer 6.5m, or 6m for much less than your budget, new! they are solid offshore ribs so id give them a look! zodiac and avon are owned by the same, however i think the avon has a better hull, which they have retained and not designed exactly the same as the zodiac, using hypalon for the majority of their tubes too, the avon 720 however im told is exactly the same hull as a bombard db 720, and not an adventurer hull! the avons will handle most conditions, but are not truly offshore ribs, for that i would sugest the mentioned humber, or a delta (would have to be second hand for your spec and budget) offsprey, ribcraft, and maybe a couple of others, good luck, jonathan
