Paul Jackeen and myself towed a 7m dock across to Wooton Creek from Port Solent. As long as you can get the front of the dock up in the air and use a tow point 3/4 double floats back that should work fine. Took us a while, 10 knots was our top speed. Good Luck

Rogue Wave and I towed one from lymington to cowes a couple of years ago.. we did it over night, and 10 knots was about our top speed to... make sure you go with the tide... I read the tide table wrong, it we sat for about and hour or two againt the tide...

If you go faster than 10 knots... then it will sink. Also, setup a backup tow line... if for whatever reason the tow line come loose, then it will go with the wind quickly!

I don't know about the Versa dock but I didn't think the prices of things were that cheap.
I saved a couple of quid here and there on things like life jackets but in general the stall owners must be holding off until the last weekend?

Aqua-dock?

Something a bit closer to home than that Bedajim, better value and better generally than the aforementioned brand.........

Better get Nautibuoy to explain!

For what reasons?

I see in your profile your occupation is a "plastics moulder", don't suppose they're anything to do with you are they?

Hi Dirk,

You're on the ball aren't you...

Better value certainly for a few reasons:
* You're right that it's my company manufacturing them and as we're doing this in the UK we're not having to pass on the cost to you of shipping from USA, Canada, Malaysia or wherever it may be. Fewer Carbon Miles too!
* We try to avoid further additional costs by selling direct to end users and don't have to pay fees to importers, handling and storage agents etc. Having said this, "NautiBuoy" (trading as 'UK Powerboat') works with us as a sales agent and I'm very happy to receive orders orders through him, or directly.

Better generally for a number of reasons:
* Immediately available from stock. No paying up and waiting 10 weeks for the goods to arrive.
* Our design incorporates two rollers in each block which ease the driving on and off process and eliminate possible damage to hull and chines. Less power needed to drive on and no winches needed to get your boat off again.
* Stronger and wider modules means the pontoon will not sag and bow and grip around your boat, so there's no need for metal bracing bars underneath.
* 26 years blowmoulding experience means we understand how the product needs to be made to perform most effectively.

Hope this helps.

I am not connected to either company other than I've bought from Versa Dock twice. I've been using their product for about three years. We use the dock almost daily and have stored various craft on it. To date their has been no damage to any hull, chines or in fact anything. The last time we ordered some more parts they arrived the next day, delivered free (we may have just been lucky here). I have not had a chance to use Aqua Dock so can not really compare.

Andy, congratulations on the purchase, it does exactly what it claims to.
