Around Britain again

Hot Lemon has smashed the word record for the circumnavigation of Britain!

Mike Deacon today arrived back at Lymington in his 8.75m Scorpion after taking less than 43 hours for a lap of Britain. With him were Chris Strickland and the ubiquitous Jan Falkowski. They stopped only twice for fuel and had no crew changes. This record knocked a massive 20 hours off the previous time for a R.I.B. and nearly one and a half hours off the record time set by Drambiue Tantalus.
More details to follow

Hot Lemon 3 is a standard 8.75 meter Scorpion powered by a 300HP Yanmar diesel. The only modifications made for the record attempt were the addition of an extra fuel tank on deck and a plywood cot and an air bed. Pictures and a full report will be on our website very shortly

What a fantastic run -- not only beating the RIB record, but the big one as well! Congratulations to everyone involved.

I think that Jan now takes the record for the most times round Britain in a RIB . . .

Good Job!!!...It's hard to imagine completeing a run under 43 hrs...Any reports on the weather during the attempt?...This will probably get Fabio Buzzi's attention...

Nick, after 10 days at sea with Jan earlier this summer, he looked pretty good!

However, he is severly challenged in the grooming department. If he looked like he hadn't slept for sevral days, he must have been in quite good condition for Jan

Top effort old boy - who's been doing the day job for you this summer Jan?

Oh. And Stuart.
As you can see there is absolutely no question. If you are shopping for a new boat it HAS to be a Scorpion!!
