Alan, that was the sort of thing I was thinking of, it could help avoid any embarrassing movements in front of a calmac ferry in a narrow channel! But there are no sensors on the engine except the ones which already make quite an effective alarm noise! I dont think I want to add anything under the hood, and feed cables etc...

Tend to agree with JW here. Speaking as someone who has four 'new' holes after putting new lump on this year. I'm putting same coloured discs over the holes until I find something useful.

I'm currently working on the "mystery switch" approach - leaving the unconnected switch there for people to flick trying to work out what it does!
