Anyone want free Boating???

Hi

Our local sailing club are in need of RIB drivers in the club ribs at various points this summer, this could be great experiance for people who don't have the pleasure of owning there own boats but want to get on the water.

They are also looking from the 31st July for 7 days 6 RIB's and drivers to cover the GP Nationals.

Things to tempt you may be free food n drink, cheap or free courses (L2, safety Boat, 1st Aid, VHF) and all fuel paid for, but no money changing hands.

If anyone is interested please e-mail me me or give me call on the numbers below.

Jono

I could be very interested.
Am keen to do some safety boat work.
Have the ticket and want to use it.
Only downside may be the distance.

With that in mind if anyone more local needs a SB driver or crew let me know.

Regards

Yup, my sailing club at Minnis bay. I raised this at a meeting recently but had no luck in changing the fact that you would have to pay to become a member before you could drive any of the boats, even if you join exclusively to do so!

We race every Sunday, only one of our Safety boats is a RIB, but they are all quite new and well maintained.

Just round the corner from me then.
Some clubs do a reduced rate for SB driver/crew membership only.
Is this the case with you?
Either way how much will it set me back?

Am not apposed to joining a club if that is what is needed and i don't have to remortgage!!

That is what i was proposing to "the membership", but no, we don't!

We do have a very active social side, however, and a really nice club bar. Let's arrange a date and i'll show you what's what... infact if you like join me for a safety duty soon and take it from there.

Sounds like a plan to me.
Let me know dates when you out and I will get a pass from my boss!

Let me have a list of your "on duty" dates sometime.
I will check it against work and we "she who thinks she must be obeyed"

Jon/Daniel

Whitstable Yacht club are always looking for qualified safety boat drivers to fill there calendar, whats more club membership comes free for regular safety boat drivers, might be worth contacting the club bosun and having a chat with him.
