Anyone out Sunday?

Is anyone about on Sunday? I'm hopefully going to shove the Ballistic in for it's maiden voyage at Calshot, and could do with some company while I check everything's working.

I'd use somewhere with a pontoon if there was one with a tap for flushing anywhere, but there isn't that I know of.

Haslar has a pontoon but no running fresh water. What's the tides like Sunday?

Nos, you don't want to be tied at Calshot pontoon while you tinker all the tube cleaning will have been wasted on those black rubber bars

I was planning on picking up one of the buoys for half an hour or so.

I'm going to need a hose afterwards, so I don't think I've got a lot of options.

High in Haslar is 12.57, 4.4m.

I dont mind accompanying you if you choose to launch at haslar. you need a hose just for washing down afterwards? You could stop by my house on the way back home to flush everything down if you like.

Another option is Hamble Point Marina slip- pricey but tap at top of ramp for trailer wash down and engine flush etc. I would bring my own hose although there is one attached last time I looked
Also pontoon to drop onto just off the slip

The slip at Mercury is free, has free parking and a tap with hose!

Really?

I though the slip at Mercury was on MDL land and there was a fee? Same for the parking although there is indeed a lot of space for cars and trailers there.

Doesn't if there's a charge- I can flush there, and there's pontoons nearby so I can check everything. It's ideal.

Cheers guys

I'm not sure launching from Warsash for the 1st time is a good idea though-I'd rather use a concrete slipway for the 1st time.

I launch regularly from Warsash. It's a lot easy at low tide, high tide you will need a 20ft rope, but it is possible.

There is a small wall that runs parallel with the jetty you'll need to watch out for, it's well exposed at low tide but not so easy visible at high.

There is a small charge for using it(although I'm not too sure people pay this!)

It can also get very busy at weekends, and the overflow car park has a height restriction of 1.9m

I've also heard about the Hamble point slip that can be used, but I think it's around £30..? For that you'd would expect a few facilities.

Thanks I've launched there quite a few times, just not with this boat,
I may have to float the boat off the trailer and it'll be busy.
I'm also not sure the trailer will turn in the carpark and I'm not sure if the rig will make the sharp lefthander back down towards the carpark after launching.

No, remember I've done work on the motor as well, so it's going to have to be run up to temperature on the trailer to check it. I don't fancy catching the wake of a ship .

Launch at the nobbers slip at the lefthand side, you should be ok from 11am - 4pm, there is a pontoon along side for you to have a play

There will be no waves, but it is tidal
