any ideas what this is for

Having a clear out of garage to make room and found this in my zodiac bag.

I've looked through my manual and found nothing that gives a clue.

Only thing i can think is its something to cover the console but doesn't seem big enough.

It has two straps top and bottom.

Any ideas?

Did it come as part of the clamp?

Could be a prop cover.

Seat when under tension.

Nope clamp is innocent in this one.
I think its far to big for a prop cover.
Clips are not strong enough for a seat and wouldnt have a clue where to attach it to make one.

I'm guessing the 1st owner of the boat didnt have a clue either as its never been used. Surely its there for something.

It is a keel protector, you slide it under the boat and hold it in the right spot for where it comes to rest with the straps.

Possibly.

hhhmmm, im thinking thats the best idea yet. Although i must be doing something right as the keel / hull doesnt have a single mark on it.

is it a very light weight carry bag or retaining strap for rolling it up?

Failing that, is it fatty Patty's thong?

Don't know but somehow I've got one too and I use it to cover the trailer hitch when it's in storage

Quite possibly you could be right and its a wrap around protector for the tubes because of course they can detach completley from the actual hull on the Zodiac's.

Could it be for securing over the tubes to stop chafing from a rope or chain?
