Any comments on Genesis?

I'm thinking about getting the new WB Genesis model. As it is a relatively new design and concept does anyone have any experience with them and what advice or opinions can you offer?

Doesn't look like a new concept to me.

Does the WB mean wide body? The only WB Genesis boat model I'm aware of was 300 cubits long x 50 cubits wide x 30 cubits high. I don't think it was a RIB however, and definitely not a new design.

I've always preferred their earlier work before Peter Gabriel left the band.

Walker Bay Genesis

This is a new RIB design introduced last year by this company formerly better known for its dinghies and sailboats, It is not a UK company which would explain its being little known in UK.

http://www.walkerbay.com/

I wanted a small (max. 5 persons RIB for use on holidays in the Philippines) for 'island and beach hopping, snorkelling and with a quick plane and appropriate max. speed.
Whilst I was researching last year Walker Bay announced the Genesis RIB.

It looked, and has been, ideal for what I wanted.

I ordered the Genesis 340 FTD hoping for delivery to Philippines by July last year for our holiday. Walker Bay then experienced problems with their hypalon supplier's quality and the delivery times began to look impossible. But Walker Bay responded to my problem magnificently. (N.B. They are in US/Canada, I am in Hong Kong and I am desperate to have the RIB delivered to the Philippines).

They did deliver (air-freight) to Philippines in time.

I am using the maximum HP recommended. A 25HP 2-stroke Yamaha Enduro (Asian model). I have now done over 15 hours, easily planes, have reached 20Kts with 5 persons.

I can recommend this RIB for its qualty and manufacturer's support.
