A man with a soda blasting machine! Seriously, weigh up hours of scraping against paying a few hundred pounds.

Next time I do mine it will be either that or I'll have a look for one using a dry ice blaster.
The liquid strippers just make a lot of mess. Scrapers take forever, create a lot of dust which you DON'T want to inhale or get in your eyes - plus the risk of damaging the finish

Intetstrip with paint brush. Don't let it dry out. Plastic ice scraper for windscreen. For last bit use cloth to wipe away remnants, again before it dries out.
Gloves, ventilation and patience.

A cheque book!

As above I also made a start on mine and after a long manky slog and only getting about 2 fwet down one side I decided to call it a day and pay someone to do it.

Don't know where you are but if up in scogland Caledonian yachts did a fantastic job of mine.

I would test a small area. If, like my last boat, the hull hadn't been sanded beforehand then you will have a shiney hull underneath. Sods blasting may leave you with a duller gelcoat.

"Mexicans" really?

Don't mock - he clearly meant Soda Bread. Helps if it's gone stale...

paint removal

We've gone to having all of ours stripped professionally by blasting. My local guy is actually using ground walnuts shells if I am not mistaken. The bottoms come out real nice but yes it does leave a dull finish.

Yes - that's a "thing" now - good for the environment and all that. Didn't do much good to the bloke with the nut allergy who was watching one job:
