thanks for the welcome!
didn't expect to start a roaring debate on incomers buying up all the property in the south west - for the record I don't own a holiday home coz like most people I couldn't afford one. I do go down to Cornwall several times each year & have bought the rib from a cornish firm so hopefully I'm putting something in not taking out.
Thanks for the info about Rogue Wave - I'll pm him to see if he can help

Pete

We were only joking Pete, it was a topical subject as Shaggy is in the process of buying. We're not quite there with our "Firestartin'" welsh cousins, yet.

Welcome Pete L. There's a great bunch of Ribnetters who face the mighty challenges of the Solent on a regular basis, sometimes for the sake of a pie and a pint !

We did our training with Dave Robson (Aquapower) in Yarmouth. Would certainly recommend his courses. He's usually at LBS, running the safety aspect of it all (on the outside in a hut on the pontoons or doing short patrols in the school boat) if you want a chat with him.

Also, every second Monday of the month Solenteers try to gather in The Churchillian pub (Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth). A few top new peeps came along last Monday and 'twould be nice for you to meet up with others and put faces to names / plan a trip or two and get some sound advice about boat storage.

Glad to hear it as the intention when the kids finish school in a few years is to sell up & move down to that part of the world. Perhaps I'll get honorary membership of the south west ribsters then.

Pete the once a month Mondays at Church are well worth a trip. You will meet a fantastic bunch of people and get a lot help (from personal experance i did and still do). I have had to drop out for a bit but should be back with them in the summer. All you are going over are questions i had few years back so drop me a pm if you get stuck or have any questions. Good luck and enjoy.
