I personally wouldn't be too bothered by the negative feedback in this case. Reading the comments I would be more concerned about the person who gave the negative feedback, and give this guy the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not suggesting that normal precautions should be taken, but I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

It says that that it was an ebay scam, and he was advised by another ebayer not to go through with it.

Doesn't look like a bad boat, console looks recent, good engine, but maybe a little underpowered. The tubes look like they have been worked on at the front though. It has met its reserve at only 1500! One to keep an eye on.

Being a yammie, I think you would get just under a grand. More if its electric start and autolube, depends on the year. The yamaha triples are quite sought after.

I originally got mine with a 30hp, never had it running to be honest, but the guy who had it before used it as a dive boat with 5 peeps on board and said it did manage to plane - I would check with tony on this

I seem to remember Phil Davies saying he gets 26 knots with his Honda 30HP 4 stroke - which is quite respectable considering how little fuel he is probably using.

I e-mailed the seller and he said he'd take £2,750 for it and end the auction.

I reckon that's a bit much for any 4m searider, so suggest keeping an eye on it on eBay!

2750 is too much for that, as many of you may have noticed I have posted links to all seariders for sale in the last 6 months so if u look in the archives you should be able to find them. One with a decent tohatsu 40 and aux went for less than that so I would keep looking.

My sr4 with a 30 mariner on the back topped out at 31mph.. The biggest problem I found, was getting enough initial oomph to quickly get it on the plane, the flooding hull is great for stationary stability, but....

A slight aside

I saw a SR4 today, hung off the back of a Barge going up one of the many channels into Rotterdam harbour.

I was sat in a boring meeting overlooking the river contemplating when I could get back to the hotel and have a beer when the SR4 went past. This did of course totaly distract me from the job in hand and my jotter pad rapidly became covered in sketches of the new dashboard layout I'm going to try on the Ocean when I pick up the Lump of 4.5mm Black Polycarbonate I've bagged on my way home from Heathrow Friday evening.

I'm currently sat in the hotel bar drinking beer whilst taking advantage of the free internet access. The joys of expenses!

Went to see this one today - part of my pilgrimage to see all seariders in christendon Did a compression test on the engine using a snapon gauge - cylinder pressures 129, 135, 146 - did I hear somewhere 10% is a good maximum difference?

boat a bit scruffy but seemed sound - trailer veritable homebrew did have hydraulic brakes cut off- wouldn't fancy towing that one - he's asking £2800
