Another fine mess .............

This is on lake hartwell s.c. USA - pictures from boatfreaks.org I know it's not a RIB but there is an important lesson for everyone here ..............

The boat is a Fountain and only one week old. It seems the boat rolled and threw everyone out - then went wide open into the woods and up a tree - everyone is ok but the boat needs a little work.

The owner of this one apparently sunk his last one in the same way!

Now this one is sinking!! What's a bit worrying is the boats name "Temporary Insanity 2". Wonder what happened to the first one.

I will need to dig out the photos of the research ship sinking in the middle east two years ago. It just shows the professionalls get it wrong as well. ( it was around 4000grt) They had a sonar which lowered into a well in the bottom of the ship to operate and shuld have been attached with safety chains in case of a failure of the lifting/lowering equipment. They didn't, and it did and the whole heavy boom went right through the bottom of the ship, pump problems were next and 20 mins everybody was in the lifeboats watching the ship sink taking everything with it.
