If you look in the bottom picture closely it looks supiciously like he is controlling the throttle on the tiller!!
Not much more top heavy than a rib, surely, it'll just rely more on dynamic than static stability (Since it looks quite a lot like a naked rib n'est ce pas?)
Wouldn't image it'd recover too well from a good stuff though.
