I have also a (raised) bowlocker for the anchor. Had the same problem but solved it with a large peace of neoprene (7mm of thickness) of an old divingsuit.
Lay it in the locker and than put the rope, chain and anchor on top. Fold the neopreen over it, close the locker and there you are..

What I have been looking at to solve the chain problem is weighted rope, first 10m lead weighted then normal rope after that.

Hi Leehebs, it's not only the chain. The anchor will bump in the storage box when riding big waves. When the anchor is not covered than, it will damage the poly..

Ah right, sorry, before going back to rib after sinking my hard boat, it had a good sized bow chain locker that's had camping mat rubber stuck to the sides seemed to work ok. Now I am back to a rib, thank goodness I was thinking of the leaded rope and what used before a heavy plastic food crate

We've used a leaded anchor rope for the last few seasons, seems to work really well, and much better than dragging the chain over the tubes

Liros Leaded Rope Anchor Line - 30m x 12mm - Only £99.95 - Force 4 Chandlery

Ohh I like the look of that Chris!

Think a new anchor, and that rope will be on order

My chain and shackles are shot anyway and need to be replaced.

same for us really! the old rope and chain needed sorting out then I spotted the leaded rope! Liverpool Power Boats stock a similar leaded rope, maybe a bit cheaper too

Yeah I have seen the one on LPB website - but not sure how long it is, but will go over and take a look.

Nice. Looks very tidy! Is that going to go inside to locker? How easy is it to release the hook if you need to get it over the side sharpish?
