anchor line

I do my boating around anglesea.probably no more than 2 miles out.how much anchor line shoud i have?

id go for 50m rope + chain. ive always carried 30m but at the end of last summer i broke down at north stack (holyhead) right on the edge of the tidal overfalls and in 18m water depth - needless to say there wasnt enough scope and my anchor was dragging meaning i was drifting ever closer to the overfalls.
