Anchor fairlead bollard thingy

I want a 'bollard-type' anchor fairlead on my Vipermax but it isn't a standard Eurocraft tube fitting.

Any idea on suppliers for one like the item in the picture below please? I can't find it on the web but I'm not really sure what you should call it?

I got this from Henshaws and Eurocraft fitted it for me. You can also just about see the Sampson post fitted to the anchor locker.

We had one on our last boat, don't really see the point of it.

You wouldn't want to trust just that tube fitting to secure your anchor to, so you'll secure it somewhere stronger anyway...so it just gets in the way while doing very little.

I wouldn't bother with the boll**k catcher on the front. I have a hefty s/s U bolt in the forward part of the bow locker and black rubber channel section over the nose. It works a treat.

Actually I almost always launched single handed and I found it useful to hold on to while teeting at the ungraceful point of either falling into the boat or falling into the water - which is the main reason I wanted it...

I use this arrangement too and find it pretty good. I do however use the anchor a fair bit and had always wanted a roller on the bow to aid recovery. I visited a force 4 chandlery the other day and found an intergrated roller assembly for a RIB that was bolted to a tube moulded fiberglass chassis. This would then get stuck onto the bow. Seemed like a good Idea and much smaller and neater than the RIBeye ones.

If its to help you on/off board when on the trailer, how about some steps or a small ladder on the draw bar just in front of the Bow? This is what I'm considering.

The reason I got mine is not really anything to do with anchoring and the like, because as already said a bit of rubber channel is fine for that. Mine is to guide a mooring warp when tying up alongside a pontoon. The warp goes from the sampson post on the anchor locker and passes on the far side of the b@ll@ck catcher before heading to the pontoon bollard/cleat. This stops the warp from sliding along the tubes and causing any damage.

Firefox would work well on the VHF, 'cept there's no-one listening for you!
