An Italian rib From Italy to Cap Breizh , Ribnet ... and Amsterdam

Hi guys.
How are you?
I inform you that an Italian rib is making a long trip.
3 men: Sergio , Umberto, Stefano.
They come from Sicily and have already crossed the Mediterranean sea.
They crossed the Straits of Gibraltar and moved to Lisbon.
They've just crossed Biscay bay 300 miles
and in this moment they're moored along Loctudy
where they met the friends of Capbreizh forum and where they exchange their flags:
http://www.capbreizh.com/phpbb/viewt...asc&highlight=

Tomorrow morning they're about to leave again, and probably they will go to Guernsey island.

Their final destination is Amsterdam
During the trip , it would be so great having the chance to meet some friends of Ribnet forum.

This evening I heard Sergio.
They're at Camaret Sur Mer.
They found heavy rain mixed with snow , with a very strong wind.
The indicator of the level of the gasoline, broke down.
So they didn't feel like going on and they decided to stop at Camaret during Night-time.
In order to check up everithing.

These are the locations of the next few days if the the weather is good .....

Camaret SUR MER - GUERNSEY 140
GUERNSEY - DOVER 180
DOVER - AMSTERDAM 160

It would have been pretty unpleasant crossing to Guernsey yesterday with the strong easterly wind and snow. By contrast today, although it's still cold (1C) at least there's no wind to talk of. They should have a good crossing.

How are they getting back to Italy? And why Amsterdam. There's two reasons I can think of, the museum of sex and narcotics as far as I've been told

The wind was indeed low today, but the sea state remained >choppy!

And mid channel didn't see the underneath of 24 knots either.

I too should be in Amsterdam, though not in anything as racey as a lovely RIB.

You're terrible

In Amsterdam lives a friend of Sergio that is often in Italy.
One day Sergio promised that he will go with there with the RIB.

Nobody believed in it ; now is really doing that!
Let's hope they will be able to reach Dover and meeting someone of you .

Why this time of year? Seems crazy. It would be such an unpleasant place to be. Temp below freezing by some margin, trying to fill up the tanks in lumpy weather out of blue drums of fuel piled all around the deck and off the back transom. Not my idea of fun.

All ports empty as it is so cold. In warmer times it could be such a nice trip!

Why not do it during summer and enjoy it? There must be a good reason.

good luck to them of course.

Hi Humber
they departed from the Mediterranean with 18 °
The cold weather has arrived just in the last part of the raid
they had no alternative
because in the summer they have a job.
