Am I about to commit a crime??

In my quest for some original Avon hypalon I have come upon an older sacrificial boat and thwarts. The boat is a 9' Avon redcrest of 1974 vintage. The boat holds air fine and is for the most part still useable and very inexpensive. The thwarts are from an older Avon river rafting boat.

If I buy the redcrest I will get more than enough matching hypalon as well as the exact matching strake to really beef up my sr5.4 tubes. But I'm in conflict with destroying a perfectly good boat. Oh the dilemna!!!

The thwarts are an option if I decide not to destroy a redcrest but I won't have access to matching strake. ahhhh......

It's a Redcrest. They're a dime a dozen, and nothing special. In fact, they're pretty out of date, flat bottom, low tech. You're doing the world a favor by using it as a donor to improve a Searider. Think of it like an organ donor!

I wouldn't feel too bad, I took one to the tip a few years ago, wish I had kept it now for the nicely aged avon grey hypalon

Ok, I guess now I don't feel too bad. Theres just something about destroying a working unit that bothers me. I guess after I tear into it I won't feel too bad. If I were to tear into my sr4 for hypalon would probably be more of a crime.

Nah don't do it. I have just aquired a trashed 5.4 Searider (Jimi)which is going to have to be retoobed. The previous owner has already removed one of the toob sections which is lying inside the boat. If you pay the shiping costs you can have as many kilo's as you can afford

Hehe, how much a Kilo of the grey stuff kind sir? Thing is the little redcrest has some nice strake I could use to match mine also. I guess the strake used to be yellow but its faded to white. Stu, do you know if shipping is expensive?
If you could tell me what courier your going to use and I could track the cost down?
