There isn't really much difference with carbon fibre and grp - it's funny how people will look down on a car made out of GRP but if you change the type of cloth used it all of a sudden becomes "hi tech"!!!

And yes there may be a few but most are GRP.

Ali decks can be cold in winter and hot in summer to walk on. It can also be noisier aswell.
It is easier to add and modify. And you don't need to make a time consuming mold like grp.
If you want to save weight you should look into "resin infusion" conpared to hand or spray layups.
