Aftermarket cabin for ribs?

Is there such a thing?

Just a thought, if going on a long expedition to the arctic Svalbard, it would be nice to be able to have a roof over the head during really bad weather. I have done a tour around the island group in a 17´Polarcircel boat up to 80*N, and am planning on doing a similar tour, just longer with my new Osprey Vipermax 680. If there is such a thing as a detachable cabin I could get for an expedition like this, that might be a good idea.

Detachable/removable, no.

This would be good if it was detachable in some way. I guess it would be difficult to make anything work with the console already on the boat...

I remember an orange rib. Maybe 4m long that had a dory style cuddly which say on top of tubes and laced or velcroed down. It was in a very old rib international.

IIRC that was a humber, and if you search hard enough you should find pics on ribnet. There was a Pac22 wheelhouse which was removable, and supplied by a guy on the IOW not sure how easy it would be to adapt to other boats.

Yeah, it's butt ugly, but it suits that Humber

Something like this might be adaptable (with a drop section to deck)

You could always ask Chris at Osprey, he'd be the natural first port of call.
