Achilles HB 350LX Maiden Voyage

Today I took two of the kids out for our first trip with our new Achilles. We launched at Oceanport NJ and then headed out to Sandy Hook Bay. The temps were great and the water was not that choppy at the inlet. We are also breaking in the new Tohadsu 20hp engine that came with the boat, so we could not open it up all the way for then long. The boat gets right up on plane with in a few seconds and it holds plane with very little throttle. We also hit 27 mph about 10 times during the trip. I did not have my hand held tach with me so I have no idea what the engine RPMs were. There will be a new prop coming soon. Not sure if just a switch to stainless and maybe a drop in pitch will be needed. The tach will make my decision for me.

In the end the boat and the engine performed flawless. I caanot wait to take it back out later this up coming week.

Thanks

Nick
