Jools,

Charges at Penarth Marina - as per their handbook:

Daily: 1.80 per metre, minimum chage 10.00 includes VAT!!!

You should be okay at Yacht club - have checked re space on berth and adv your length and breadth and preferred draft clearance.

Unless you do want to go into Marina!

The problem with these long threads is you lose track of whats already been said!! - I've just found this - I new it was somewhere!!

We would be delighted to be "escorted" in - and of course will be listening on Ch16

OK, Itinery is as follows

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday
Crew join PoB in Bristol Harbour
(move ship to Cumberland Basin due to Flood Stop Gates in the morning)

Saturday
08:00 Leave Bristol
10:00 - 11:00 Arrive Cardiff/Penarth

Evening - SoC Party

Sunday
TBC Spirit of Cardiff Sendoff

20:00 Return into Bristol

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we will be in Cardiff from Mid-day Sat till theafternoon of the Sunday.

Anybody who would like to join us for the whole trip is of course welcome.

So far I have 4 "RibNet forum" members (+ my wife) confirmed attendees!!

Come on - the more the merrier

Add yourself to the list by dropping me a private message (or mail)

Cheers

Jools, I think you will have more takers closer to the time - this does not help with your planning, but I have been advised the Ribsters lot do leave some things to last minute - they may have to sleep under the stars / stairs / bars!

With the side of escorting you into Cardiff - sounds like a plan, hope to be there. Channel 16 sounds like an idea!
Now, just need to find a seat on a RIB.

Have you decided about berthing by the Cardiff Bay Yacht Club now, or still intending to go into the marina?
Please let me know if you have more detailed questions that will help your decision.

Threads are getting long, but perhaps once in a while a summery can be made - like you just did with people on board etc.

Take it easy and see you soon.

Have I got a mobbile phone number for you?
Keep a look out on the SOC send off thread with summaries as well.
Take it easy.

Nadia

You have a place onboard 'Topaz' to escort POB into Cardiff if you want one

My only worry about mooring on the pontoons at the yacht club - is that we might take them with us!! - a bit like fenders!

I havn't seen the pontoons in Cardiff so obviously will have to take your word for it.

I'll attach a photo of us next to some pontoons so that you can see what I am talking about - note that our mooring ropes are attched to the main bank not the pontoons.

I'm not the skipper of PoB but I would imagine that he will require something solid to moor to.

Could you take any pictures of the yacht club - there web site only has pictures of sailing boats in the bay - I don't understand why

Otherwise Penath Marina, or over by the Visitors center may be more suitable

Cheers
Jools

(ps In the photo we are re-fitting our rubbing strip after the ship was repainted)
