We went out to St Kilda on friday....it was well worth the run out,..impressive is an understatement when it appeared out the mist. heavy weather going and coming back, this lead to the one concern I would mention from a safety point of view;fuel back up.
My DF150 typically averages about 0.8 ltrs per NM,the islands from Leverbourgh were 49.9 miles (not NM) so 100 ltrs excluding a back up should have been fine...I took 200 ltrs, overkill I thought however.... I used 220 ltrs
. the weather was that bad, keeping the boat on the plane was near on impossible so spent most of the trip getting out of the hole. which in turn humped through the fuel.....
Well worth it though.
