a rare treat a proper RIB

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Avon-Searider-...QQcmdZViewItem

for those of you looking for a first RIb!

this is well worth a haggle without the engine. They don't come up that often and are wicked botes with a 70 up the chuff

I saw that, and briefly considered it but he still wants to much for it, even without the aux on the back

I posted this 4.7 a few weeks back look how much it went for, I was in the wrong place at the right time, good engine too

I've been in contact with the owner. Its been on Ebay three times now. He won't sell the boat on its own. Shame.

I know they are expensive new, but that 30HP Mariner is not worth much second hand, maybe £1500 tops, which would mean the boat would still cost you £5.5k You can get a very sorted 5.4 SR for that money with a decent engine. If your dead set on a 4.7 Bilge Rats is on Boats and outboards with its new 60HP Yammie 4stroke.

Other SR owners may correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there is a free flooding section of the hull that fills up when not moving to stop you "wobbling around". Once under way all the wet stuff drains out the back in a few seconds and you're up on the plane in no time

HTH

Its called a flooding hull, two small (1") inlets on the bow that allow part of the hull to flood so lowering the rib into the water a small amount and improving the stability, and on the stern there is an 8" approx hole that allows a fastish escape of the water held in the hull whilst attempting to plane.
