On a serious note - go for poly carbonate if you can get it, its stronger and a lot more shatter proof, and i've been told bends under heat a lot better, currently on my wish list.
It gasses inside at a much lower temperature than perspex (acrylic). You need to take great care if using a strip heater to bend it, to prevent it being full of bubbles. It's also soft and scratches very easily. It is marked easily by cellulose thinners. Just incase you clean your tubes with this.
There is a version which is hard coated but bending it spoils the coating in the area of the bend. I've not tried this coated material so I have no more info. It's pricey stuff too.
