Good evening, my name is Paul and firstly let me apologise if what I'm doing offends or breaks any forum rules.
I am an operational team member of Watersafe UK Search and Rescue Team and I'm also one of the fortunate few of the team taking part in our 2014 999 Round Britain Coastal Challenge setting off in June of this year.
We are all volunteer's in the team and operate on call 24/7 365 days of the year.
The team is a registered charity and we survive purely from donations and fund raising events such as this. We are attempting to raise £50000, £25000 of that for Watersafe UK and £25000 for the RNLI.
As it has been stated the boat being provided is from Parker RIBs for which we are very much looking forward to using and very much appreciative of this.
Each team member taking part has set a personal collection target of £500.
I'm asking for RIBNet members to please look upon this favourably and dig deep donating whatever you can afford, i havn't yet had the pleasure of meeting Andre from Parker RIB's and I am looking forward to doing so but he has already humbled myself by making a donation to my personal justgiving page.
If everyone reading this could please look favourably upon this cause and donate whatever they can to my justgiving page Paul Duda is fundraising for WUKSART
Or by texting DUDA99 followed by a £ amount to 70070
Any help is personally appreciated by myself in advance and you are helping support 2 organisations that genuinely save lives.

Many thanks

Paul.

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forum. I do not think your post will offend anyone.
You got my donation only because you were the only Team member at the time who was showing the Parker 750 Baltic. It had to be you :-)

Ribnet is now on the list of sponsors.
see: www.999coastalchallenge.co.uk

I have noticed that Paul Duda had received quite a few donations since his above post and these being Donations by Anonymous. Nothing wrong in that but if these are from Forum members that please put a message from RibNet member. A RibNet sticker will be displayed this being donated by fellow member poulner6.
Please show your support and give a donation however modest as every pound counts.
Cheers

Paul, a great boat Andre is providing for you there .

I do have a ribnet burgee which I'd happily let you have (it didnt make the Macmillan Rib as I was going round the IOW with it ) .

I think I'm safe to say I can leave it with the Parker of Poole Sea Safari (based in Poole who's skipper is swift water rescue trained - amongst other things ) for pick up whenever suits if you'd like.

I have just got back from a 2 week vacation in Mexico Family wedding.
I have been following the thread but only on a few occasions was I able to log on hence only a few responses. Once I logged on and then changed the page I was logged out. I tried this on my Blackberry, IPad and laptop . Admin any thoughts?

Jason many thanks for the RibNet sticker - looks great

Peter many thanks for the burgee. Please give to Steve as I will be seeing him before the Challenge.

I do hope fellow members will donate to the Challenge as both charities are close to our hearts.

The amount does not have to be large but every pound counts. I am counting especially on those members who know me to support the Challenge.

Dig deep dig shallow but DONATE whatever you can afford.

Many thanks

The rib is now ready for the 999 Challenge. The engine had a full service yesterday and this included oil and gear lub change, new belts , new filters , new water pump impeller and a good check of the engine mounts.
Today it was the radio and navigation turn. I have had AIS installed for receiving and transmitting so you can follow the Challenge on Marine Tracking

The MMSI is: 235095413
Name of vessel: NEVER ENOUGH

The VHF and AIS are controlled from the same switch on the panel so as long as VHF is on AIS is on too. I will be out Saturday so you may spot me.

There has been a change to the donation page. Before you donated to a Team member. This has now been changed and the donation go to one account only. The earlier donations have disappeared but have not being lost. They are trying to work out how to add them on.

I am hoping that RibNet members will support this Challenge.

I am pleased to say that the list of serious sponsors is growing more or less daily. Now Ellan Vannin Fuels of the Isle of Mann will fill the tanks on arrival.

See 999coastalchallenge - Home

Just over a week to go. Come on RibNet members you are also on the list but apart from Jason Golding, Chris Caton and myself can't see any more donations.
This is for the RNLI and WUKSAR Team

Just follow the link and press DONATE . Even a fiver from each member would make a big difference

Please make sure you indicate you are a RiBNet member

Andre, when's the boat coming to Poole (and how?).

I've got to put hours on my mini ribcraft on sat so will see Steve then . If you're in Poole I will be to.

Would it be possible to get the burgee back once their round so I can round the island with it again for sentimental reasons.?

Pete

Hi. Peter, the Team will bring the rib round on 11th by sea. I will come by car and stay overnight at the RNLI hotel. I am sure we will meet up on the 11 and 12. I will make sure you get the burgee back on their return only will it survive the voyage

To date the 999 Challenge has received £ 30,451.00 in donations . That represents 60% of their target. This is a very good result and hopefully now many fellow ribnetters will show their support so the target can be reached

see : 999coastalchallenge - Home

they set off on Thursday 12 June from Poole. The route is shown on their web page. Please take photos if you see them in your area.

Two VW Transporter vans have been donated by Imperial Commercial Van Centre. These vans will provide space for Team and equipment and will follow the route by road.

On Wednesday 11 June the Team take the rib to Poole for the start on Thursday 12th. All sponsors stickers will be applied to the rib prior to departure from SDS.

I have attached a few photos of the van and if you look closely you will see that RibNet is also very visable

what the Team needs now is your support so please click and donate whatever you can afford. Cheers
