Gilles, as JK said the rib is diesel powered so not an issue in Scotland. you will find petrol in most marinas in England. If your plans now only involve say coming to the South Coast then you will get petrol in the marinas.

Best to post your route and any local forum member will give you the best advice

Superb Andre. I'm assuming no tech problems and everything as it should be.

Great weather window for them.
Could i ask if a trailer is following on land just in case... Or if needed the rnli resources can come into play?

Are the various stations boats out to say hi at each stop?

No trailer so very much hope no tech problems but EP Barrus will assist if needed and the RNLI are keeping a watchful eye on their passages

Andre, apologies for the late posting of some pictures of the departure from Poole. Life got somewhat in the way!!
Anyway here are a few of the better ones, our boat camera is not the best at range.
We will be meeting up with the 999 Team on their return to Poole and will escort them back. I promise I will take my DSLR for some better shots.
Steve

As received from Nigel the Team leader

Had another really good day with time to visit Lundy. We encounted loads of marine wildlife including seals , puffins and over 100 short beaked dolphins who joined us for about 5 Nm . Amazing site.

Fuel consumption is good. We are burning approx 1.2 litres per Nm at RPM between 3000-3500

Day 1 was approx 158 Nm with 7 engine hours

Day 2 was approx 164 Nm with 10 engine hours

See Facebook page for short video

Unfortunately no AIS signal is being received so it is not possible to track the passage. According to their Facebook page they have just passed Bardsey Island

15 June Day 4 Port Erin Isle of Man to Oban

Day 4 was a long day for the Team. The crossing from Port Erin to Stranraer was very rough only averaging about 14 knots. They had to refuel for the last 25 miles or so at Crinan where their support team met them with diesel.

About 12 hours on the water.

I was watching them on AIS turn towards Crinan and was wondering why. Now all is clear

today's leg is from Oban to Lochinver

there is a very good video clip on their facebook page , worth watching

About 1 hour ago the Team arrived to Lochinver. The passage from Oban took 7 hours

The AIS was out of range for the latter part of the passage so tracking was impossible.

I have no info whether they passed or saw Hafren.

The Team is now half way through the Challenge. The Parker 750 Baltic is performing very well. Hopefully tomorrow will be like the last 5 days. It will be an exciting passage for them and a great experience. I know that first hand

I have attached today's passage marked by AIS but the latter part of the route was not received so I have manually marked it in red.
