It is very nice that there is a sudden interest in the 999 Challenge RB only the question was not about the record for the fastest Round Britain only if it had been done solo

If Mike did it alone with no other rib with him then the 999 Challenge are not the first for a solo RB and the matter is closed.

Challenge fans, just to keep you up to date on challenge details.
We have been made aware, not factual yet but it is believed, that no-one has ever driven a solo Rib around Britain before.
This trip has been done before, but as far as we in know in groups of boats.
We did apply to Guiness World records last night to see if this can be confirmed.
We do have to wait 12 weeks until we hear something.
If any of our fans can put us right either way it would be appreciated.
Fingers crossed that we break a record anyway.

Can anyone comment on this?
Too late. All world water records are controlled by the RYA and UIM. Guiness will only accept records that have been administered and timed by them.

Sorry but you should have registered a year ago, that's how long it takes (unless your face fits!!) Alan P

Thanks Alan but they really wanted to know if RB had been done solo

Has it been done solo in the past does anyone know ?

They will leave Littlehampton about 9 AM and head via Outer Owers into the Solent possibly to Cowes for lunch. We will meet them on route with Poolesesafari and a few more ribs and escort them to Towns Quay Poole ETA Towns Quay 2.30 to 3.00

Why wait 12 weeks when we can put them out of their misery now? A simple Google search would have told them that they were far from the first!

I get a whiff of Grilled Bear...

The 999 Challenge Team on board the Parker 750 Baltic rib has just left Littlehampton on route to the Solent and later Poole arriving just after 2 PM.
Littlehampton Marina have kindly donated diesel fuel for the last leg of this amazing challenge. Well done Littlehampton Marina!

Just been in Solent to run back to Poole with them but no show. Latest is they popped into cowes and the engine blew when they restarted, I think they are going to use a different boat for run to Poole. But they did finish as they started from Southampton. So boat made it. Team made it. And engine just made it then blew
