The guyes at Scorpion realy have put a lot of effort in trying to make me a better slot - time for my rib. The final solution was that an other customer who has ordered an advanced rib, taking very much time to bild, didnt mind having his rib finiched after mine.
The slot - time could be moved to April. So now I have confirmed my order, and can see myself in my new Scorpion!
Now we have to find out what equippment to fill it with, reading the Rib-Magaszine, it seams like most every plotters last only hours.
Reading everywhere, enginemounts fall apart like toys, new engines falling off the boat etc. How different chartercompanies have had 10 engines delivered back to the dealer.
It is possible to read something bad about any engine, but it seams like it harder to find disapointed Yamaha - customers.

Have a nice evening!
Martin

The thought occurs to me that if Scorpions delivery time is 8 months then maybe Mr. Jelly isn't charging enough for his magnificent machines?
Sorry, whats that? Got to go now. Think I can hear someone shouting at me from Greece!

Enviable position to be in as a manufacturer isn't it? Premium priced product where demand outstrips supply. 'Spose he could look at increasing his production capacity but would need to watch out for any potential drop in quality stds. Then he'd lose the price premium!

Picton are in the same position with their Cobra range - I asked Dave Picton why he didn't just expand and take on more staff - he said he had been their and done that in the past making normal boats - said he would rather smaller volume - lower overheads - less headaches same profit!!!

A mate of mine builds luxury houses - start at Ģ600,000 - only sells a few a year but he drives around in a 360 spyder - his cousin builds FAR more houses in the normal price bracket and has a workforce of about 300 - he has less disposable income and far more headaches - my mate works about 3 hrs a day - they work around the clock!

Bigger isn't always better!

only 8 months!

Mr jelly is offering you a rib in 8 months, not bad he must be busy, try redbay you might be lucky to get one by xmas next year, only plus point it will be a lot less expensive and built for extreme seas.

Stick to the Scorpion it will be worth it in the end. The other one you could try is Cougar Marine, thay are building a rib based on the Honda 225 race boat. i have been in their ribs and thay are very close to the Scorpion. Good Luck
