I thought the Balistic was made by Mako are they the same hull and if so who splashed who?

the Gemini dealership is in the same yard as us and I pop in and say hello about twice or three times a week and I've never seen one with a tube problem. Are you familiar with the FRE or are you confusing it with a Waverider.

I heard there were Toob problems with 10 metere Cobras in fact I heard one go bang in Lymington and I was in Southampton at the time. (that's me off Islanders Christmas Card list ?)

Weren't Ballistics made by a company on Hayling Island originally?
A something E and the unique thing was the reverse chines .
Always thought they looked nice when they were at boat show, but didn't see them this year or possibly last.

Ballistics have the same hull as a Mako but were built in this country on Hayling Island. Blue Ocean charter own one of the big Gemins with twin 200's and they have had lot's of problems with tubes (cones falling off) and other probems.

The Blue Ocean is a wave rider The FRE is a military specced boat and I don't get the feeling anything would fall of it, it's very solidly put together.

re my other question what is the similarity between a Ballistic and a Gemini

Ah I didn't realise that. I would like to see one of them.

I am comparing the waverider to the Ballistic.

Gemini will be happy to go up against any RIB (apart from Ocean Dynamicís) to prove it sea keeping capabilities, durability and strength.

Gemini have a 7.3m FRE available now with single 225 Opti Mariner, A-frame, VHF, seating for 6 with 350lt fuel tanks. Call them for further information on

I have never heard of any problem with the Balistic, except maybe there time to deliver the boat from new.

But if you can wait for about 4 weeks I will you know about a new model build over the Balistic frame. It should be a bit wider, but otherwise the same quality.

The price seems very fair.

Regards
Rene

artic ribs look similar to cromptons (the original version of ballistics as made by aet and then sub contracted to mako in sa ,possibly soon to be made by prestige in sa, at least the boss of mako was in prestige last time i was there . by the way i make the tubes for artic ribs hence i am bound to be biased towards them , and ithink they are very serious

I sent a mail to get my deposit back, and right now I am wondering which boat to try next.
This only confirm that the production capisity is too small compaired to their popularity.
Have a nice one, I wouldnt.
It may be worthwhile having a look at Mats Lingren's new Explorer 36 built in Sweden. It is being launched at the Stockholm Boat Show next week, and you can see details on www.rib.nu

Select Model Programme and then Explorer 36
