yes, indeed I had spotted those before they were deleted but I wasn't at all offended.

Chris...perhaps you are still upset that I may have once inferred a while back that you were somewhat portly! I do apologise.

JSP...goodness, where did you come from?! I've only once before seen such a profusion of posts since you appeared on here and that was from the much missed Jackeens! You must want to set some sort of record!

Now lets stick to the matter of this thread and let the gentleman who started it digest the good advice from all sides and buy a fine Rib of whatever make he decides upon.

Tim, I apologise. Was a little un fair of me to call you a man who likes to milk dogs. I'm sure in the flesh you are a perfectly nice person who's properties don't fall down to often. But jesus lad, you come across like a right tool on here.

Hi again lads

Juat a quick question about an auxillary motor. I dont mind what but probably a 9.9 would be about right I think. I want to be able to carry it a reasonable distance and I have no preferance 4 or 2 stroke. I have found a light little PARSUN 4 stroke which claims to be 35 kgs. Does any1 have any knowledge??!! Many thanks...

What's a reasonable distance? How fit are you?

Lifting 35kg is quite a bit. Its like lifting two of those barrels you get for a water cooler, except that with an outboard its actually more awkward and the centre of gravity is all wrong and the person who designed the handholds on it sits behind a computer screen and has never lifted an outboard in his life.

As for Parsun outboards - I would do some searching here and the rest of the internet - I think you may find that they don't have the reputation/quality/support/warranty you get when buying Mariner/Mercury/Suzuki/Yamaha/Honda/Tohatsu/Johnson/Evinrude.

Guys,

This thread is killing me! I also finished in hospital yesterday from laughing, and I get back from work tonight and find more of the same. This is too much. You guy want to get on TV. I now find that more delights have been deleted! What HAVE I Missed?

Nice one about milking dogs, tho.

mmmmmmm... well, after having looked over the boat and agreed to hold a sea trial soon, about a week after i email the guy to arrange a date, and he suddenly decided that he then did not want to sell the boat, when it had been just what we had been lokking for.

After that unfortunate occurence, I have been round a few other craft (not ospreys tho) and am now seriously looking at another 6.5 from another manufacturer, cant spill now, but you'll here about it when I have it

[QUOTE=gotchiguy;318595] mmmmmmm... well, after having looked over the boat and agreed to hold a sea trial soon, about a week after i email the guy to arrange a date, and he suddenly decided that he then did not want to sell the boat, when it had been just what we had been lokking for.

That's a shame. Did the seller give a reason for pulling out?

If you were at the sea-trial stage you would've agreed a price. Odd to pull-out so late in the process.
