I've seen a "Rolls Royce" of trailer with small Pnuematic tyres for rollers, anyone seen one of these?

Yes, you need one if you have a stepped hull.

and back to the point for a second if i may...

There is very little difference in trailering the 5.5 and a 4.8 and in my opinion, the 5.5 is a more flexible boat for all uses - so i would go for it the Gemini if i were you.

right - back to crosswinds.
