2012 olympics portland/weymouth

Hi, i wonder whether anybody local to weymouth harbour knows what is going on ref boat launching over the summer in that area?? I have read alsorts of conflicting things about whether I can launch my rib in that area or not.
The pre elebrations seem to start early July
Loympic event late July early aug
paralympics late aug end early sept

does that mean i cant launch into this area all summer?

what am i going to do?

thanks for the reponse, but thats my point if you read that link and similar its not clear.
the map shows that much of the harbour and much of the bay has the event.

it sounds like if you have a birth pre booked, you will be allowed in and out of the harbour, if not you won't.

but what is a precautionary area outside the harbour?

Ill ring the harbour master!

Yeah I suppose it might be a Slap to Weymouth for some in a 4m unless its good weather, although I did it (and further) plenty of times in my Squidgey Zodiac.. but 'XS' was on about access to the 'Area'.
As for the 'Race' if the weather's OK and you stay close in you can generaly avoid the worst of it ....Unless,of course... your called Matt h

The harbour is prebook only.
I notice you have a 4m with 30 hp. From experience it would be uncomfortable out there among all the other boats intent on doing there job.
If you're hellbent on watching the racing you could launch at kimmeridge. You've got bolt holes in warbarrow bay and lolworth cove if it gets bad.
