1st outing

I eventually managed to get out on the water yesterday on my new Rib, had my arm in a sling since December so although i took delivery in January havent been able to take it out , it was lovely and sunny when i left Gosport and due to running in period i cant do more than 2000rpm for the first hour. 20 mins into the trip the heavens opened and down came hail stones which were pinging of my face , i was determined to get the first hour out of the way so stayed out and got very wet and cold, still next week hopefully i will get out again and open her up a bit.

2000rpm? Sounds a bit low for running in any engine to me, is that what the book says?

I think mine is something like that for the first hour.

If it's any consolation, at least yours are shiny & new - in the not too distant future I'll be needing to do that with an engine that's older than some of our members!

Don't worry about it Stephen, you'll never ever have to do it
