50:1 using TCW3 2 stroke oil.

Thats great thanks for your advice, I gather these are pretty bullet proof engines?

Its obviously a 20 year old engine but has full service history from new so hoping for not too many problems!!

Cheers Woody

Lovely engines. I've got one of the 'reissued' 90s ones on my Searider. I think it's the same motor as yours if you've just bought the Humber that was for sale on here.

Mine oils up less at small throttle openings using Iridium spark plugs.
It doesn't like Rock Oil 2 stroke much-it oils up more at low revs and smokes more-but gets on very well with Morris Aquamax and Quicksilver oils.

Don't leave it off the boat and standing with weight on the skeg for any length of time as the gearbox casings aren't built for it.

I shall have to look into the Iridium spark plugs but shall be using quicksilver oil.

I'm taking her out tomorrow with the local lifeboat as i'm crew so if everything goes wrong I can hitch a lift and bump up the service calls at the same time!!!

It'll be fine on Quicksilver. The Morris is as good, but half the price when you buy it in a 25l drum

Standard plugs for it use a 1mm gap by the way.
