15ft Avon Rigid Hull Light Bar?

Does anyone know of a company that sells light bars for Avons? I'm talking about the tube type of bar that goes over the motor that kinda looks like an air foil? I just bought my first boat and am wanting to give it the attention and love it needs. Any help would be great. FYI- all the guys out here say the're custom. They want about 3000 USD$ to make one. Any sugestions?

I guess you are talking about what is often called an "A Frame"? The Stainless steel hoop at the stern of a RIB & is used for mounting Nav lights, Antennae etc. Average cost on a new build boat here in UK is between £500-800 I'd say. Can't help you with anyone in the US who would sell one off the shelf. At its simplest an A frame could be a length of 1" stainless bent into a hoop with a couple of brackets welded on to enable it to be bolted to the transom. You must be able to find someone who could fabricate this for a few hundred dollars as opposed to $3000?!

I think Alan McKewan is this forums' expert on making A-frames. If you look back through some of his submissions, I believe he has even posted photos of ones he has made, or is in the process of making.

Thanks, still looking I did find a pre made one, however not sure if it will fit my Avon: http://www.abinflatables.com/html/productsfr.htm Go to the accesories page. But so far thats the only one I can find. Thanks for the help. If anyone knows of a pre made one that is made specifically for a Avon 15ft 1992 rigid hull let me know.
