10mtr Scorpion Would You ?????

Morning All

Have you read the report on the Scorpion 10mtr Rib in motor boats month ly this month. It gets a great report, said that its the best Rib they have ever tested and the build work is fantastic, But have yo seen the price tag £182,000 inc VAT. Its a lot of money for a rib. If you had the money would you buy this and be able to cruise anywhere or what else would you consider.

Cracking boats though they are if I were in the fortunate position of having that much wedge to spend on boats I wouldn't buy the 10m. Far better solution would spend the £82k on say an 8.5m/300 Yanmar Scorpion and the £100k on something else probably a yot kept somewhere warmer!

Bit like the old saying -'If you have to ask what the fuel consumption is you cannot afford it'. This craft is aimed at a different market, probably not for the likes of you and me -I agree with Alan, although maybe not a yacht. Maybe a Cessna 182 one could jump out of!

Sounds good to me, I went Skydiving in Australia, What an experiance. I would love to go again but it costs a fortune over here. Did the jump from 12,000ft over a lake into a valley. Think we had 60 seconds of free fall or something like that.

£182.000.00 for a Scorpion, isn't this the perfect oppurtunity for Manos to post his "proof" on how much rib manufacturers profit from building this type of boat.

I seem to recall that he was going to produce invoices, quotes etc to back up his claim, but then I also recall that he was going to race his new rib this season. That didn't appear either.

Hi Charles

Yes it was a tandem jump over Queenstown New Zealand. Great experiance. Was a bit concerned at first as the guy i was jumping with did'nt speak english but i later found out he was twice world champion so i was in good hands. Your a bit of a pro at this then.

This calls for modesty - been jumping for 16 years, 2383 jumps at last count, the sport has taken me all over the world and is the most exciting thing one could ever do. My daughter just did a tandem, age 12, in SA - she loved it. JK is also an old skygod - Mike G as well as Di have done quite a few as well.

Bit off the subject though - Keith, I thought you said size did not matter.

I did Charles....however if I had £187,000 to spend on a boat it would more likeley be on the Scorpion than a 10m SIB!
