Mounting a transducer in an all rubber boat

I have an Intex RIB that I want to mount my Lawrence but I don,t know how to mount a transducer . I have a portable motor mount that attaches to the back of the boat but it only has room for the 3HP outboard motor
any suggestions would be most helpful. I have installed a wood floor
P.S. I also need advice on mounting Nav. Light. Bow and Stern

RIB (solid hull and tubes) or SIB (inflatable tubes with transom, fabric floor and rigid floor insert)?

Have a search through the electronics section and you'll find several different options, ranging from gluing in a shoot-thru configuration to making up an external removable mount that clamps to the transom.

Lights can be a problem on a small boat that needs to fold up. Pics and what mods you can and can't do would help narrow the options.

Blueeyes have a look on karman threads he's got a solution for the stern transducer mount and aerial mount fit a pole for the nav lights.

just looked at your thread again so the transom is tube which lends its self to a similar bracket as your motor mount on a smaller scale with fixing blocks/eyes glued on the tube to secure it,or you could modifie the motor mount with an extension bar to starboard and a plate welded on to secure the transducer on.but there is portable mounts you can buy humminbird do stuff like that you might get something off the shelf.
put mounting transducer on a sib in the search box loads off stuff there that will give you food for thought.

I will modify my motor mount adding an extra 12-15 inches off to one side . I can then clamp on an extra piece of alum. channel with the transducer. will that distance away from the motor be OK.

Re Nav. lights I have bought a set of portable nav. lights with c-clamps attached , but do not know how or where I can install them on my Intex RIB.
The reason that I picked an Intex RIB is because of its light weight. Even the smallest Avon or other brand name RIB would be too heavy for me to handle

Note everything that I install must come off at the end of my trip, even my boat must be deflated and packed up.

I am handicapped and drive a mobility scooter with a wagon in the back that I put my boat, motor , gas tank, fishing equipment . etc. Everything together cannot be to heavy or too hard to assemble or to take apart and pack up at the end of the day. I also have COPD which is why I cannot lift or do anything strenuous I would not be able to breath. But I am

determined to still enjoy an outdoor life. I also have an inflatable kayak that I sometimes use. But if it becomes too windy or the current is too strong I get out of breath and require help getting back to shore.

These type of arrangements I usually make before going out.

Blueeyes, I just purchased a portable mount today from this Canadian shop. Fish Finder Mounts .com Looks like its great for float tubes, inflatables, etc. Now I will be purchasing a Humminbird Helix GPS/sonar to go with it. It was the best portable option I could find for my 1997 Zodiac Futura sib. Good luck

now that's a great link for siber's i know fenlander was looking at tube mount transducer.

I have decided to add a new board on my motor mount making it 18 inches wider I can then mount a Sully transducer mount onto the board. Thanks to all of the RIB members who have given me your ideas.
