Hi forum,
I just signed up for the forums, and am following the recommendation to introduce myself. I am primarily a sailor, and have an Abbott 36 which I sail actively out of Chester, NS, Canada. I have previously owned a Caribe 10 Light with a Mercury 15 as a dinghy for a previous boat, but for the past 7 years have had hard dinghies since selling that one. This past winter I picked up a Walker Bay Genesis 310 with a Honda 9.9 that I'm using as a dinghy, and what really prompted me to join this group was just purchased last week, a 1998 Zodiac Pro Open 550 with a Yamaha 130 2-stroke on the back. It's proving very fun!
I'm hoping that through the forums I'll find out more about how the rigid part of the boat is constructed, more about tube maintenance and care, and just more about things I should know about running an 18 year-old RIB for 5 months a year in a Northern clime.
Seems like a great community here, thanks to all who run and participate in the forums!
