Help needed!

Hi, just joined the forum, looking for some advice really. As part of my college project for my HND in mechanical engineering, we've got to design a product as if it was ready to be launched to the market. Our group chose a set of wheels for taking a semi inflatable from the shore to the water.

I'm in charge of the marketing for this project, and need to come up with a figure for an amount to produce (hypothetically).

I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me an idea of how many semi inflatables are in use in the Uk, or worldwide, or any other help you could give me with this.

Thanks,

Ryan

What's a semi inflatable? Do you mean a RIB, or a SIB with a leak?

If you mean a SIB, you can reduce your production projection by one pair, 'cos I've already bought mine....

Somewhere between flaccid and tumescent.

You'll find out as you get older.

"Oh yeah, the Falls. Been there." A likely tale - there's no boats on the Falls Rd......

He's already at the age where the only benefit of using Viagra is to stop him rolling out of bed in the middle of the night.

I'm not familiar with the international market but in America the National Marine Manufacturers Association publishes sales statistics by market segment and should have the numbers and trends you're looking for. They're free to NMMA members (I'm not a member) so perhaps someone on this or another forum could get them for you, or if you contact NMMA directly they might be helpful. Or, if you search marine trade publications online you should be able to find the annual report. Also, the type of wheels you describe are manufactured by Zodiac and others in the trade so they might publish or share info. good luck with the project....
